🔻 How Does Min Hee Jin View Artists?

“Enduring disgust and working hard—honestly, it feels like I’m working for someone else’s benefit. Such a waste of time having to support a bunch of naive kids.” (Dec 30, 2023)

This conversation reflects Min Hee Jin’s duplicity. Fundamentally, she does not seem to respect artists.

According to her, NewJeans members are just “naive kids”, and her role is to endure that “disgust”.

“Haha, what do they even know? Watching them stare at themselves in the mirror and obsess over dancing drives me insane.” (Dec 30, 2023)

“Artists? How many times do I have to say it—stop using that word. It’s so annoying. Just stop.” (Jan 8, 2024)

🔻 Artists as Tools for Min Hee Jin

Min Hee Jin reportedly used NewJeans as a mouthpiece against HYBE, treating them as a tool to convey her will.

For instance, during NewJeans’ sudden livestream on Sep 11:

“It seems HYBE’s current management methods are not the right approach. Let’s reinstate the CEO…” (Hyein)

“What we want is for Min Hee Jin to return and lead the company again, combining management and production like ADOR in the past…” (Minji)

The livestream concluded with a call for Min Hee Jin’s return—a request suspiciously aligned with her own demands to HYBE earlier that morning.

🔻 Min Hee Jin’s Return Strategy Was Two-track

Min Hee Jin allegedly pursued her reinstatement as CEO via email while NewJeans exerted public pressure on HYBE through the livestream.

Dispatch obtained messages between Min Hee Jin and NewJeans’ families sent on the day of the livestream:

“We clearly demand the CEO’s reinstatement to stabilize the company.” (Min Hee Jin, Sep 11, 2024)

At the time, Min Hee Jin was facing public backlash over her mishandling of workplace harassment victims and allegations of unethical practices in the entertainment industry. She managed to shift the narrative on the day of the livestream, using these “naive kids” to carve a path back for herself.

🔻 NewJeans Claims the Livestream Was a “Personal Decision”

“We were concerned about rumors claiming Min Hee Jin instructed us to do this.” (NewJeans)

Min Hee Jin’s side also denied involvement, telling KBS (in a now-deleted interview) that she had “discouraged” the broadcast.

However, Telegram messages obtained by Dispatch tell a different story.

Min Hee Jin reportedly knew the exact start time of the livestream and enthusiastically remarked, “(Bunnies) are rolling out the carpet for us.”

🔻 The “Invisible Hand” Behind Hanni’s Hearing

On Oct 9, Hanni messaged fans, stating:

“I’ve decided!! I’ll go to the National Assembly hearing! I’ll go alone!“

Hanni emphasized this was her personal decision:

“Don’t worry!! I’m doing this for myself and the members. I haven’t told the managers or the company yet.”

However, Min Hee Jin reportedly knew. On Oct 8, one day before Hanni’s announcement, she visited Min Hee Jin’s office with a yellow envelope (believed to be a hearing attendance certificate).

Min Hee Jin welcomed her warmly, alongside an attorney from law firm Shin & Kim, and they talked for over four hours.

🔻 Minji at the Nov 29 Press Conference

“We haven’t had private conversations with CEO Min Hee Jin, but I think she shares our thoughts…” (Minji)

NewJeans sought to distance themselves from Min Hee Jin during the press conference. They described their livestream as “autonomous”, the National Assembly hearing as “a personal decision”.

However, Dispatch suggests a clear and deliberate strategy behind the events:

Livestream → National Assembly hearing → press conference, all orchestrated to assist Min Hee Jin’s “escape”.

Even before HYBE’s official response to the reinstatement request, the press conference was already planned, with answers prepared in advance.

And Min Hee Jin was reportedly preoccupied with other pursuits, leaving her true motives under scrutiny.
